Call for Submissions

The Maple Ridge Climate Hub is looking for a Communication Design partner who can elevate our messaging through branded and compelling community event materials, social media marketing, print media, presentations and newsletters.

About the Maple Ridge Climate Hub

Our non-profit society formed in response to the IPCC's call to limit global warming to 1.5o C above pre-industrial levels. The world has already moved past 1o C and the need to reverse this trend is urgent.

There are several contributors to climate change but the main cause is burning fossil fuels – gas, oil and coal – in our cars, our buildings, and for manufacturing. Canadians burn more fossil fuels per capita than any other OECD country.

Our purpose is to help residents of Maple Ridge learn about climate change – the science, the impacts, the urgency and the solutions – and take action.

We all have a role to play and we need to work together. For example, as individuals we can choose to walk and ride our bikes rather than drive to nearby destinations. At the same time, the city has a responsibility to build sidewalks and riding paths so we can safely make these choices.

We envision a future where the way we move, how we heat and cool our homes, and how we work and play are emissions-free, equitable and in harmony with nature. We're looking for a designer who can help us bring this vision to life.
